Medical Insurance and Pre-authorisation

Dr Lever is recognised by major insurance providers and bills within their approved fee schedules.

Although you may be insured, you are ultimately responsible for any costs incurred. We strongly recommend contacting your insurer before your appointment to confirm what is covered. This applies to:

  • Initial and follow-up consultations

  • Investigations such as blood tests or imaging

  • Any recommended treatment or procedures

Please request a pre-authorisation number from your provider and share it with us prior to your consultation or bring it on the day.

As insurance policies vary, we are unable to advise on specific cover.

Self-Pay Fees

For patients not using medical insurance, the following self-pay fees apply:

  • Initial consultation (30 minutes): £250

  • Follow-up consultation: £190

  • Joint or soft-tissue injection (if required): £75 (in addition to consultation fee)

In clinic injections:

  • Intramuscular steroid

  • Trigger finger

  • Injection/aspiration single joint

  • Injection multiple joints

  • Carpal tunnel injection

Cancellation Policy

A missed appointment or late cancellation is affects the booking of another patient in need.

We kindly ask for at least one full working day’s notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Unfortunately, cancellations made with less notice — or non-attendance — will incur a fee of £150, which is not reimbursable by insurers.

Prescriptions

Prescriptions can be issued during your consultation when appropriate on paper or electronically

Medications can either be:

  • Collected from a pharmacy

  • Or delivered to your home address (usually by the next working day) via Signature Rx, a secure online pharmacy

Requests for prescriptions outside of a clinic appointment will incur a £20 administrative fee if no additional blood test is required .
